  • Support and co-financing of an Austria-wide network of lawyers who give legal assistance and advice to refugees and asylum seekers.
  • Information and further training of government officials and refugee counsellors.
  • Direct intervention in particularly difficult individual cases.
  • Public information and awareness-raising towards the refugee situation is
    carried out through media relations and the website www.unhcr.at.
  • The UNHCR Liaison Office in Austria, located in Vienna, also maintains relations with the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and other international organizations.
